I am a management specialist with over 20 years of experience in both humanitarian and private-sector organizations, much of it in complex, high-risk environments, where my role as a resilience strategist has been pivotal.
My work encompasses various aspects, including administration, operations, business continuity, crisis leadership, security risk, and organizational resilience. I have held roles with esteemed organizations such as the World Food Programme, UNDP, Save the Children International, and AMIDEAST, as well as private-sector entities like International SOS and the Canadian energy company Nexen.
Throughout these diverse settings, I have skillfully managed facilities and resources, ensured business continuity during disruptions, and made critical decisions when faced with incomplete information and time constraints.
No single discipline fully encapsulates my expertise.
What binds them is a deep interest in understanding how organizations function under pressure.
How do they recognize warning signals?
Why do capable individuals sometimes make decisions that lead to costly repercussions?
How do systems fail?
What enables some organizations to adapt while others continue on a path toward failure?
Baidhani.com serves as a platform for me to explore these inquiries and develop a comprehensive body of work around them.
Through Crisis Chronicles, I analyze real crises and the underlying decisions, warnings, and conditions of organizations involved. CrisisMind© expands that analysis by connecting signals, decisions, actions, patterns, and consequences across various cases. Management Insights is where I write more broadly about crisis leadership, operations, resilience, and the nuanced realities of organizational life.
I hold an MBA and a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems. My professional qualifications include Associate Membership of the Business Continuity Institute (AMBCI), Security Risk Management Professional certification at the country level (SRMP-C), and completion of FEMA’s Professional Development Series in Emergency Management.
These qualifications offer a formal foundation, but my understanding has primarily been shaped by experience in environments where plans frequently collide with reality.
As a Yemeni national, I also have a passion for coffee culture. Yemeni Coffee is the personal facet of this website, dedicated to the history, culture, and global legacy of Yemeni coffee.
Photography is another personal interest of mine, allowing me to capture moments, places, and perspectives that warrant a closer look. You can explore this aspect of my work on Instagram.
